How did I get so interested with music???




    Growing up in SM around the lowrider community, and may dad who was heavily into oldies - I grew up to them. Above are a few albums I vividly remember growing up to! East Side Story & Lost Soul Oldies were a series, these are just 1 of each of many of the whole compilations in the entire series. I took a liking to the Oldies that had tight harmony! I was too young to remember a lot of the East Side Story, only remembering some more well known oldies. When I was around 10 my dad brought home a collection of Lost Soul Oldies. I really loved all the songs with KILLER harmonies; I never just really find myself getting to into the music. This all changed when one day I was watching an infomercial, it happened to be advertising love songs from the 50's. I always pictured Doo Wop as crappy barbershop music. It wasn't long before I heard "Dream Lover" by Bobby Darin and "Teenager In Love" by Dion - I was HOOKED! This was MY sound!! One YouTube search led to another, and in no time - I was hooked on 50's Rock N' Roll and Rockabilly! That sparked my love of oldies, and I wanted to be cool and listen to them on their OG formats ... 45's and 78's.

a year of progress, a year in review...   This year I have expanded my growth tremendously. I have been able to more fully grasp what it is to put out music, to make music, and to really invest in music. Before this year, $20 was the most I'd spend on a record - maybe $50 if I'm wild. Is this record what I think it is???

This Is My Story b/w More Peanuts (La Vienteunica) The Valentines - San Antonio, TX 1965/66 King Bee K-103     For about 3-4 years, "This Is My Story" by The Valentines was at the TOP of my want list. I searched high and low and just a week and a half ago I was able to get my very own copy of this EXTREMELY RARE record! Why the caps??? Because, the rarity of this is RIDICULOUS. Why is it so rare? Well first, let's learn a bit about this record.      FIRST OF ALL!!!! This is NOT Richard Barrett's group from NYC who were signed to Rama records.     Released around the year 1965/66, this record is virtually unknown to most people.
